Description

Skyrim Steel Sword

Bring the world of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim into reality with this full-size replica of the iconic Steel Sword—perfect for cosplay, display, or your Dragonborn-themed collection!

This model is split for easy printing on most standard 3D printers and features detailed textures to replicate the elegant engravings of the Nord's craftsmanship

🛠 Printed using:

  • Bambu Silk PLA+ for the blade and hilt – to give it the sharp, metallic shimmer of Skyforge Steel
  • Bambu Wood PLA for the handle – ideal for a natural grip feel
  • Bambu PLA/PETG Support Filament – for clean, crisp overhangs and intricate detail

🔧 Assembly Tips:
-Parts fit together with rectangle dowel alignment for easy gluing

-Optional internal channels allow for reinforcing with #3 rebar (963mm length) for extra durability and weight. (Glue the rebar in place so it doesn't shake around on the inside of the sword)

-Use minimal amounts of glue to prevent seeping to the outside surface, dried glue will leave white marks on the surface

Disclaimer: Rebar may need to be trimmed down for tolerance and glue space

Make sure to harness your inner Eorlund Gray-Mane for this project, happy printing!

I'm newer to 3D printing complex shapes, anyone else getting these rougher results with the overhangs? In Bambu Studio I used Adaptive Layer set all the way to Quality, used the .12mm High Quality X1C preset so speeds were at about 50-100mm/s, and the support settings in the photos

looks like the supports were sticking a bit too much, whats your top z distance set at?

OH man! I just checked and it was at .12mm I think. That seems bad, seeing stuff online that recommends between .28 to .34mm- welp time for a reprint haha- going to Dremel this one and try Glazing Putty after see if I can salvage it.

yea im usually around 0.25mm. but if youre going to sand it and do a lot of post processing anyways i wouldn't worry about getting it perfect. I dont really like doing all that so I try to dial it in lol. What you could do if you want my settings you could try my no support filament file and just change the layer height

Support Issue:25 hours into the print and this happens. I've had this happen with 3 other prints. I've washed/glued the plate, put a new nozzle and using petg as support. Any advice?

I haven't been using petg as support so im not sure what the issue could be. Have you dried your filament?

buy a new build plate, the textured pei plate has notoriously bad bed adhesion. I guarantee a better plate will fix your issue

this came out very well. the 3/8 rebar fits perfectly. it is very long. poctures don’t do it justice.

Nice! I'm glad you put the rebar in, it really makes a difference. Try the greatsword or battleaxe if you want something larger lol

I'd love for it to be less pieces as well, unfortunately bambu doesn't have a printer with a 4ft build volume

Support Issue:This printprofile has failed two times for me now on my P2S-printer. The supportstructure seem to be to weak. (I tried a calibration between the prints, but the error is the same.) The other plates has been printed without trouble.

Hey I'm just seeing this now sorry! Did you happen to watch the print to see what happened when it failed? Hard to say what went wrong from a picture but I'm happy to help diagnose the issue

No problem. I increased the support width and got it to print with my forth try. The print was ok, but I think this object is better to print with special support structure.
