Description
Hello all,
This is for anyone who has grown culture from milk kefir grains and had to separate the yogurt like culture from the kefir grains with a plastic colander. I give you the Kefir Cage which will work with both Regular and Wide Mouth Mason Jars. I got my Kefir Grains from Amazon.

I highly suggest printing with food grade PETG.
I made the Kefir Cages in two sizes (short and long) for both regular and wide mouth mason jars. This way you have options
Now this is what I do:
1. Put the kefir grains in the 3d printed kefir cage.
2. Put milk in the Mason Jar.
3. Dip the Kefir Cage into the Mason Jar so that the milk covers the kefir grains.
4. Loosely cover the kefir cage with the correct size mason tops and rims.
5. Place the Mason Jar with Kefir Cage in warm area at 65-85°F (18-29°C).
6. This is the hard part. Wait 24 hours.
7. The Kefir yogurt product should be like custard.
8. Stir the Kefir grains within the Kefir Cage and the yogurt product should come out the slits. I uploaded a few videos to show you what I do.

9. You can rinse the Kefir grains with dechlorinated water or just drop into another Mason Jar full of milk.
10. I provided a strainer in both regular and wide mouth sizes. Using the mason jar rim to hold the strainer in place, you can put the mason jar upside down and allow the whey to drain off.
I admit that there is a lot more going on that is Kefir related. There are many many webpages that will explain the Kefir process. Websites which sell the Kefir grains will go into long details.
