The form of a spaceship inspired the creation of this small shelf. Its unique design, with maximum dimensions of 300 x 152 x 55 mm, allows for versatile placement. For wall mounting, I've created an “H”-shaped bracket that, with two 3 mm diameter expansion screws with 6 mm diameter heads, securely holds the shelf, preventing tilting. It could also be wall-mounted using adhesive, though this is suitable only for lighter loads.

Printed in PLA, I chose to add supports to the area where the bracket is inserted. Naturally, some patience and care are required during removal for post-processing; meticulously remove excess filament with a file. 😉

I'm using these shelves in a powder room, they look really nice and modern and were very easy to print. The design is sleek and just different enough, lands in a really nice spot where it's both classy and funky. My one issue is the mounting, the cleat is a good idea but it's simply not big enough for the shelves to be trusted for how I planned to use them. For decorative purposes it's probably fine but weight on the far edge and front edge can cause more movement than I am comfortable with. Two small bits of mounting tape for each shelf in tandem with the cleat makes them very solid, the weight is still bourne by the cleat and the shelf can't 'rattle'. I will say that the cleats makes installation very easy which is nice. I like them enough that I can't knock a star off for that, overall they're great.

Thank you very much for sharing and thanks for the 5 stars.. in fact, as you say, it's not a shelf designed to support excessive weight, but it is a design shelf, it alone without anything already decorates a lot You did very well to put some double-sided tape, which I myself use and often recommend 😉

Wow, what filament did you use here? It’s beautiful

Replying to @BillPrinton :
It's a PLA silk copper filament spray painted with rustoleum oil rubbed bronze paint, with the edges scuffed up to get the filament to show and a couple layers of clear coat after it cured.

Really a very nice shelf. Hangs above the key rack for sunglasses and wallet. Everything went well. Printed with PETG HF on a P2S

Love the shelf, hate the mounting mechanism. The mount falls off easily, making it unreliable unfortunately. Needs deeper / larger / taller mount. I had to add a safety screw on top to make it not fall. Still, nice design.

Thank you very much for the compliments...! unfortunately as I already told another user and mentioned in the description, you need to perfectly clean the two cusps (tips) that fit together! The mounting system is called "French cleat" which is used for quick attachments with little thickness, I advise you to clean the coupling areas very well; if the shelf falls, it's because there's air between the two tips! you will see that the fit will be perfect and it will no longer come out, I always test my creations before uploading them to Maker World
