Bill of Materials
Description

Meet RC Crab — an eight-legged, radio-controlled crawler that brings a touch of Strandbeest magic to your workbench. Each leg uses the clever Jansen linkage made famous by Theo Jansen’s beach-roaming sculptures, turning the simple spin of a motor into a smooth, creature-like stride.
What you’ll need
- 4 × N20 gear motors
- CyberBrick parts pack
- 3-D printer (FDM)
- PLA filament in your favourite colours (darker shades look extra spooky)
- 3-D-printed RC remote
Why it’s fun
- Eight legs, one cool gait – the Jansen geometry gives RC Crab its signature, organic walk.
- Cable-free control – drive, steer and creep around with the printed remote; no tethers needed.
- All printable – body, legs, and remote are designed for home printers and standard hardware.
- Clear assembly guide – step-by-step photos make the build friendly for beginners and seasoned makers alike.
Print the parts, drop in the motors and CyberBrick boards, bind the remote, and let your RC Crab scuttle off into the sunset (or across your living-room floor). Have fun and happy making!
