Captured Ball Fidget

Welcome to another model found Exclusively here on Maker World.  I'm not a professional full-time print farm or print designer.  I have a day job and do this for the love of doing it.  Please LIKE, COLLECT, and FOLLOW to see more of my work as it becomes available. 

MODEL INFORMATION

Two spirals form a lattice with a captured textured ball inside. What?! How?  If you print the ball first, you can put a PAUSE in the GCode (in bambu studio) .  Easy Peasy.  In the file you will see a support blocker which keeps the slicer from building supports in the model.  There is also a negative sphere at the top to reduce the overhang angle preventing printing layer in mid air….ask me how i know.  The orange ball shown in the pictures is the ball included in the file.  I may include some other ones for choices, but any ball ≤ 25mm should work.  If it fits below the top rim during the pause you are fine. 25mm gives the ball room to move around.

1. Print ball First!!!!!  Must do this!!!!
2. Print Cage Second!!!!!
3. There is a PAUSE in the GCode to stop the print right before the lattice starts to come back together.
4. Insert ball at PAUSE.
5. Press PLAY icon to restart print.

Snug Normal supports come off easily.  I got a little stringing in SPORT MODE because of all the jumps.  Stay in NORMAL MODE or adjust retraction in your filament profile if you are comfortable doing so.  I just got impatient and drove it fast.

Tested on a P1S and A1.  Plenty of bed surface area contact, so bed slingers aren't a problem.
