👋 Hello, MakerLab community members!

This is my first post here, so I'd like to start by giving a shout-out to everyone who shares knowledge and creativity in this incredible space. I'm new to the world of 3D modeling and printing, but I'm totally excited to learn and contribute!

Today, I'm presenting a project born from my personal admiration: a cross with the Lord's Prayer, entirely composed of letters I designed myself in CorelDRAW, word by word. I made sure to adjust each spacing, curve, and depth so that the text would be as legible as possible in the final print. After many, many (many!) attempts, I arrived at this result, which I share with you with great pride.

The cross is approximately 15cm wide by 25cm tall and has a base with a peg, adapted from a model I found here in the community (thanks!). My initials are present on the base, but rest assured: it's just a visual suggestion, easily removable for those who want to use the model in a more neutral way.

I'm currently printing with a square covering my initials and applying a QR Code to the top – a tip for those who like this idea and want to personalize the project.

📦 Printing parameters:

  • Cross: 15% gyroid infill
  • Base: 5% grid infill

I also made a 95% smaller version of the cross, allowing you to print two at once on the Bambu Lab A1 bed and up to 4 bases at once.

This project took about a week just to design in Corel, another week of printing/testing, and another week adjusting the final details. I do all this in my spare time, as a hobby – so it's truly a work done with patience and passion.

I'm very happy to be able to share this model with you and I'm very open to criticism, suggestions, and tips. I want to grow in this world with you and learn more and more.

A big hug to everyone and may this be the first of many projects!

🙏 Amen!

Model Description:

Cross featuring the Lord's Prayer in Portuguese, fully modeled using connected typography to form the shape of the cross. Approximate dimensions are 15 cm wide by 25 cm tall. The bottom includes a peg for fitting into the included base. The base is adapted from a file found in the community and contains personal initials (easily removable).

All words were manually designed in CorelDRAW, with careful adjustment of spacing and font structure. Word depth was edited in Bambu Studio to improve print readability and detail.

The model was printed with:

  • Cross: 15% gyroid infill
  • Base: 5% grid infill

A 95% scaled-down version is also included, allowing you to print two crosses or four bases at once on a Bambu Lab A1 build plate.

Optional tip: Apply a QR Code over the initials on the base for a practical, personalized touch.
