May 29 Update: The previous wrench was difficult to actuate, so I uploaded a version with lower pressure. High-torque theory supports high-pressure wrenches; testing with a stronger spring is pending verification
May 22 Update:
The correct dimensions for the wrench spring are 0.6x4x10; the previous installation instructions contained an error, which has been corrected
The original wrench had a short actuation stroke, which did not affect functionality but compromised the user experience. An updated wrench with a longer stroke and unchanged clamping force has been uploaded.
This project is open-sourced by the 4061 & Bamboo team. Based on the official version, I have made the following updates and improvements to address issues encountered during use:
● Gear assembly redesign to achieve 1.7 times the torque of the original Hall version, increasing torque while maintaining feed speed, reducing the burden on the motor and gears, thereby mitigating gear wear and motor overheating.
● Uses a Type-C front-mounted motherboard and redesigned base for quicker and easier firmware updates
● Optimized mid-frame design for improved motor heat dissipation
● Improved motor fastening for enhanced stability during operation
● Optimized wrench force for improved performance with high-resistance spools
● Optimized buffer spring for better rebound, reducing feed failures
● Optimized screw holes to utilize exclusively hex socket screws
● Optimized buffer structure for reduced size and includes an oil reservoir for easier lubrication
● Refined aesthetic design, featuring front compatibility with 24x24x2mm Bambu standard color cards; top-side channel labels; side panels; and added LED light guide columns
Compared to the official open-source version, this version adds the following BOM: Purchase as needed
Name | Model | Quantity per Set |
20122A Gear | 0.5 Module 2012 Double Layer Tight-Fit Gear | 4 |
242A Gear | 24 Tooth 0.5 Module Tight-Fit Gear | 4 |

Update Notes: The original hex nut fastening method has been updated, please take note of the differences.
