Description

BEE MINDFUL REPAIR BAR
By Master Beekeeper Nathalie B., owner of Bee-Mindful.com

The Bee Mindful Repair Bar is a simple, 3D-printable tool designed by Horizontal Hive expert Nathalie B. to make reattaching broken or cut comb fast, safe, and easy, without the need for toxic galvanized wire or messy staples.

What It Does
This lightweight “comb stab bar” lets you quickly secure loose or damaged comb to any type of top bar (for Top-Bar Hive, Langstroth, Layens or any style of frame).  Just screw it underneath your bar, press the comb into the bar’s teeth, and you’re done.

Why It’s Works So Well

  • Leaves the comb intact and usable without harming bees
  • No galvanized wire or metal staples (so non-toxic and safe for your honey and your bees)
  • Fast, mess-free installation: no kerf or metal cutting, bending/wrapping stiff wire, or stapling to wood, no hair clip and zip ties, etc.
  • Low-profile design fits under any top bar or along the sides of deep frames (no gaps between Top-Bars)
  • Designed to work with most 3D printers: print multiples easily and affordably in very little time

Tips For Use

  • Screw the bar slightly off-center widthwise so the comb hangs centered under the top bar (centering it lengthwise)
  • Press comb slowly and evenly onto the teeth using a hive tool over the teeth to spread the pressure and avoid comb crushing
  • Multiple comb pieces can be attached along one bar if needed (respect the cavity shape)
  • For removals and standard Bee Mindful Horizontal Top-Bar Hives: cut out a central square; bees will rebuild the ears of the trapezoid
  • Best for brood comb, cured wax, or lightweight comb
  • Avoid using on heavy, honey-filled fresh comb (let bees empty that first so it’s back to lightweight)
