Outdoor Faucet Cover

*****UPDATED*******Due to the lack of availability of faucet covers in local hardware stores, I designed a faucet cover to protect my hose bib during the freezing temperatures. I used AutoCad to design the cover, mounting  clip, and wing nut.  The updated design has the screw section resized to be more robust and should be more sturdy.

There are 2 options of covers to choose from. The first is the standard cover with Gyroid infill, the second is a hollow cover with a lid that has holes so it can be filled with spray foam. Or, you can stuff it with whatever material you want in the hollow space.

I know this is not the same as Styrofoam, but it is better than leaving the faucet exposed. I suggest wrapping the faucet with an old towel before putting on the cover, and this should give a little more insulation and protection against freezing.

Key sizing:

Width at Faucet:  determines left to right size when mounted to faucet, against the wall

Height at Faucet: determines bottom to top size when mounted to faucet, against the wall

Depth at Faucet: determines front to back size when mounted to faucet, distant from wall

Radius Corner: determines outside radius dimension

Cavity Offset: determines the overall wall spacing

Wall Thickness: determines the thickness of the inner and outer walls

Taper Offset: determines the the taper offset from the opening to closed end

Chamfer Corner: determine the chamfer at the closed end
