My sister comissioned me to make something Orla Kiely-esque as a gift for her friends. 

(Orla is known for her retro-inspired colors & geometric patterns.)

This what I ended up coming up with. It is meant to be an interactive decoration but does incredibly well as a toddler toy.
 

The insert tolerance is VERY tight (so you don't have to use glue). Just be sure to have a firm grasp on the plant & push directly down (so you don't bend it - especially if you print in something like PLA).

I like to print it pretty dense, to make it durable & so the weight promotes a nice spin.
