Decorative Birdhouse - Chapel Design
Another one for our architectural series. This time a special request led us to designing this beautiful chapel. It stands about 14 inches tall so is a bit larger than our other birdhouses, but most of this increase is the intricately designed steeple. This design has traditional gothic style windows on the sides, and a strong red roof and door to contrast the white walls and accents. As with most of our other houses there are freshly blooming flowers along each side and additional accents to bring it to life. The steeple includes a cross and a swinging bell in the bell tower. And at the entrance there is a cozy bench and a welcoming sign.
There are 4 includes messages for the sign which can be easily swapped out to suit different occasions or could be easily customized to create your own messages.
All components have been carefully designed and print tested to click together with ZERO glue required!
3 opening sizes in the file 1" (26mm), 1.25" (32mm), and 1.5" (38mm)
Overall Dimensions 8"x8"x14"
Interior Dimensions 5.75" (146mm) x5.75" (146mm) x 8" (200mm)
Printed in PETG using a total of 5 colors (could be adjusted to suit your preferences)
Gray - 168g
Base, roof, mounting bracket, window glazing, and sign lettering (would work great with a dark gray as well)
White - 314g
Walls, steeple, cross, bench, opening rings, windows and signs
Red - 175g
Roof, Door and Flowers
Green - 32g
Flowers
Yellow - 4g
Bell
AMS - MultiColor Components
Only Elements requiring AMS are the Windows, Plants, and Signs with about 36g in total waste between color changes, supports and purge towers. You could always omit the signs and print a second bench, they are made to be interchangeable to either side of the entry. Many people have had great success printing the flowers in only green and painting the flowers after, as well as painting in the windows and only printing them in one color.
Please reach out with questions related to this design or ideas for improvements.
Assembly is pretty easy but a couple parts need to be installed in order. I'm working on instructions and will add them shortly.
As always, if you have questions, or suggestions for improvements, or ideas for another style that you would like brought to life I love feedback.
Enjoy!
