Description

Remodeled DIY "elite" strap for Quest 2.
Can be easily modified to work with other VR headsets.
I wanted a Elite Strap before I knew what it costs (20$), but I also wanted a halo/flip-up, just because.
Ended up remodeling most parts to deal with my OCD and the difficulty of finding parts that work together and I don't have the correct screws, but I have a ton of zip ties!
Here you get both.

Mechanics and original design by thanhthanh - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4680804.
V1 Zip-tie Redesign by kurtmage - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5337076.
Partwise my OCD kicked in when putting the first one together, and the zip-ties tolerances annoyed me and wouldn't work with the modified Twister/Adjustment wheel by onglez - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5407375. Pretty nob.
I prettied up the design to hide the zip-ties, strengthen the springs in thanhthanh's alternate design as the old ones kept jamming on the pin, resized the pin, and added parts I found worked with the remodel.
Modified the Quest 3 Headrest by dtnavida - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6295741 to work with the ratchet box (it isn't needed) But it feels good though and the modifications make it aligns with the ratchet box.
This 3mf file has the original Quest 2 mount's by thanhthanh if you don't want the halo/flip-up.
The Headband was modified from thatdude902's - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4623392 blank headband, adding a strengthen mount and holes to fit the thanhthanh's straps.
Thumbscrews were made because I didn't have hex screws in the size and length, so I "made" one by adding a hex nut to a longer screw and placing in this model. Works better than I expected.
Uses M4x25 roundhead screws, and one nut tight to the head as well as one nut to tighten into.
Parts of onglez design was used (like the twister), but needed a better and more flexible front clip, so his Adapter Mount was modified to fit with my flexible front clip. Print this in PETG with supports and only walls.
Clips on to the headset nicely. I used normal superglue between the clip and the headset mount.
I changed onglez's attachment hinge with one that clips/snaps into place so it should hold for most BeatSaber activities and not fall off.

Reach out to me if I've messed something up or mis-credited anyone.

BOM:
4x 4.6x1.2mm Zip-Ties. Have no idea what they are called.
optional:
4x M4x25 Round head screws.
6x M4 Hex Nuts.
Screws and nuts came in a bright yellow box that costed 10ish dollars. M4 to M6 machine screws, bolts, buts and washers.
