Description

This profile was printed and tested on a Bambu Lab A1 printer before being published, and the results can be seen in the photos provided. If you encounter any issues, please don't rush to leave a negative review - feel free to reach out, and I'll do my best to help solve the problem.

14.05.2025 Update - Fixed sizing of the Fence itself, noted wrong sizing in saved profile, replaced the profile.

_______________________________________

A  concrete plate fence «PO-2», the most replicated architectural project in Soviet Union. It was designed by architect Boris Lachman in 70’s as a fence aimed to guard the military bases or industrial production from the random trespass. But as it often happens, this piece started its’ own life and this specific fence appeared in every town in the endless territory of the USSR.
And as a result, his architectural element became an integral part of the Soviet and Post-Soviet urban landscape.

For you to understand — on more than 22 million square kilometers which is now the territory of fifteen modern countries — you can hardly find a graffiti writer or street artist who didn’t try the spray can on this fence.

All print calculations are based on the attached print profile and the model size defined within it. You can always resize the models to suit your preferences.

There is two options on how to print this:

Fence and Mold Tray

If you want to print the full set as it is, there's no need to enable or disable anything. You can simply adjust the settings based on your experience to achieve the results you prefer. The provided estimates are based on the published settings, model size, and printing with a Bambu Lab A1 printer.

Fence only

  • In order to print the fence only you will need to open “Objects”
  • In the objects menu you will need to disable po_2_mold_form
  • With only fence to print it will not take long time

If you're only printing the fence, feel free to move the model around to suit your preferred settings, or simply print it as is.

If you’re printing the full set, you’ll need to use glue for assembly. I personally use Bison Super Glue Gel. Just avoid applying it too close to the corners of the fence, as this glue can slightly melt PLA and affect the results. If a bit of silicone ends up between the fence and the tray, it’s not a big issue - you can always trim it later if needed.

Once the parts are glued together, you can pour in your preferred molding silicone, following the product’s instructions and allowing it to cure for the recommended time.

After that, simply follow your usual process, instructions, or personal experience to create a gypsum model. This was my first time working with gypsum, so the results could be much better - there is definitely a learning curve. Still, I’m really happy with the outcome, as it’s something I created from scratch all the way to the finished product. This project was made for my spouse, and the goal was to make her happy - something I feel I more than achieved.

Feel free to use this, remix it, or do whatever you would like -I'm just happy to share it with the community, even if it ends up not being useful to anyone.
