Motorized Display Turntable

Motorised turntable with controllable speed for photography or display. Part of my photobooth for IKEA Pax wardrobes, see the rest of the collection here. 

I wanted a light booth to get better phots of the models that I post here. One part of this is a motorised turntable with swappable presentation plates. This model lets me take great photos, and capture 360 degree video of my parts.

If you want to make one for yourself, you can follow the assembly guide below. Most of the parts can be found in the Make Supply, see the Bill of Materials below. Or you can probably find all the bits cheaper elsewhere.  

In addition to this you will need a motor and motor controller. You can find your own or get them cheap on aliexpress like I did.

• Motor: I recommend 10-20 rpm
• Controller: This is not the exact one I use as mine has been in a drawer for about 10 years. 

I cannot grantee you can get the same motor/controller as me but I can help you to make what you do get work. If you use my selections they will work with 12V or 24V, just use whatever you have available. At 24V the motor will work fine if you run it at half max speed. You can use it at full speed as long as you do not put a large load on it. 

Presentation Plates

Removable presentation plate lets you quickly swap styles. See the print profiles for different presentation plates.

• Double sided small, solid color / infill pattern. Just flip over for different patterns. Change the infill pattern in your slicer for a differnt look.

• Solid Disc. This one is a bit bigger and has no hole in the middle. I have covered mine in an oak veneer.

Try out different colors, or patterns for a unique look.
