Support-Z-Distance Test – 0.21 mm to 0.27 mm
Print Profile(7)

Description
Description:
This test model allows you to determine the optimal top Z-distance (Support Top Distance) for your 3D printer and filament.
The file is divided into seven variants, each with a different distance:
🔹 0.21 - 0.219 mm
🔹 0.22 - 0.229 mm
🔹 0.23 - 0.239 mm
🔹 0.24 - 0.249 mm
🔹 0.25 - 0.259 mm
🔹 0.26 - 0.269 mm
🔹 0.27 - 0.279 mm
The models are identical; only the top distance between support and model is adjusted. This allows for direct comparison to determine the best setting for your printer—be it for clean overhangs or easy support removal.
Application:
- Load all seven models into your slicer.
- Ideally, print them using the same parameters, varying only the Z-distance.
- After printing, compare the surface quality and ease of support removal.
- Select the value that yields the best results for your printer, nozzle, and filament combination.
Recommended settings:
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Material: PLA
- Cooling: Enabled
