Flappy the Swimming Penguin is a low-poly, articulated character designed to flap right off your print bed — no frustration, just pure penguin joy.

 

With print-in-place flippers and a satisfying snap-in belly, Flappy is ideal for bathtime fun, desk wobbles, or as a charming shelf display. He’s part of the Bath Buddies™ series — a growing line of playful articulated creatures.

🛠️ Smart Design Features:

  • Bespoke supports, designed in CAD, accurately hug the flipper and beak hinges to ensure clean articulation and reliable motion.
  • 🎨 Support geometry aligns with part color zones for AMS/MMU users — this avoids color bleeding and keeps transitions sharp.
  • 🧩 Snap-in belly (printed separately) eliminates the need for glue and:
    • Saves a considerable amount of material and time with AMS
    • Enables two-color prints if not using an AMS
  • 📐 Pre-scaled to 70% with included Bambu Studio profile
  • ✅ Hinges tested and functional from 60% to 100% scale with PLA from several suppliers.
