Description

This is a conversion kit I made for an old Dell mouse I had laying around.

This design requires supports for the shell, but not the base plate.

Parts Required:

  • Dell MS111-P Mouse
  • 4X: ø12mm x 1.75mm magnets
  • CA Glue or Super Glue

Assembly steps:

  1. Disassemble Mouse (1 Screw on the bottom under large mouse foot sticker). Save the feet stickers!
  2. Check fitment with the printed parts, and “dry fit” the board and lens.
  3. Glue the magnets to the base and shell (make sure the magnet orientation is correct).
  4. Place lens in base followed by the board. Push the cable into the cable holder on the base.
  5. Put the font of the base into the shell first and then allow the magnets to pull it shut.
  6. Apply feet stickers from the original mouse to the new base plate and shell.

Description of changes made:

I took the base plate, simplified it, added geometry to hold the new internals, and holes for magnets.

I added geometry on the shell to align the buttons with the existing standoffs, and a cutout for the cable.
