Locking Ball & Socket Links (print-in-place)
Print Profile(1)

Description
These ball & socket links can be chained together to form any length of snake-like thing. A locking collar can be loosened or tightened to adjust the amount of friction holding each ball joint in position. The link and the collar print-in-place as a single object.
In addition to the basic links, I've provided a few accessory pieces to make the links more useful. (I'm also providing the STEP file for people who want to design their own accessories):
Square Base This base can be screwed to anything with four M3 screw holes in a 25mm x 25mm square pattern.
Book Clip The suare base can be slid into this clip that can then be clipped over the edge of a thin board, hardback book cover, etc..
Generic End Piece This end piece has 4 M3 screw holes in a 12mm x 12mm square pattern, and one M4 screw hole in the center, that lets you screw anything onto the free end of the chain.
Flashlight Holder This end piece allows to to attach a small flashlight (like those cheap Harbor Freight flashlights) using a short length of 1.75mm TPU filament as a bungee cord strap. Just stretch the TPU as you slide it into each slot to lock it in place.
