Description

This is a tool to press the pistons of mountain bike hydraulic disk brakes during brake bleed, service, or installation of new brake pads.

This is designed for the Magura MT7 four piston caliper, but can be used with other systems and twin piston caliper.

Additional parts required-

Four round 6mm x 2mm neodymium magnets

Two M6 x 18mm x 1.6mm washers

One M3 x 40mm cap head bolt

To assemble the tool, firstly press (glue or heat set) the bolt into the thumb grip, slide the top wedge onto the bolt and thread the threaded wedge onto the bolt with the matching angles facing each other.

Second, press the magnets into the disks ensuring alternating polarity so the disks attract, and attach the washers to the outer faces. The magnet should hold, but a small application of super glue will provide additional hold.

Finally place the disks between the wedges.
