Description

This is Eddie The Eagle Ray, the latest member of my flexi sea creature family!  You can see the whole family in the  attached photo, which includes Eddie, Susie, Sally, Lucy Long-legs, Timmy, and Tall Timmy.

The larger Eagle Ray in the photo is simply this model scaled to 150% in the X and Y directions.  It doesn't feel quite as flexible as the standard sized one; probably scaling it height-wise too would be better, but really should be remodelled to use the same cell size as the standard one.

The standard sized one is printed in Bambu Lab PLA Basic, and the larger one in BamBu Lab PLA Silk+.

Yeah, that's a mess ☹️. I'd guess that you need to clean your build plate and maybe use a glue stick to improve adhesion.

Just use hot water and dish soap Should be good by the way, touching your plate can cause bad adhesion because of the oils on your hand

Great print! Some advice for those struggling that I haven't seen anyone comment yet: Raise your layer one bed temp! I had failed prints due to adhesion issues on my A1 mini multiple times even with a clean plate. The solution was to raise the layer one bed temperature to 70 Celsius. I also upped the nozzle a couple of degrees on the first layer as a precaution although this probably didn't have much effect. Since then I've printed twice with no issues, so if your printer is in a cold room in December, remember the build plate will be less "sticky" for the melted plastic.

some of the layers didn’t adhere together. could it be my mix of filament: PETG, PETG HF and PLA? I am new to this so any info would be appreciated

Yes, mixing filaments like that will very likely cause issues. Best to stick to one filament type in a model - i.e. all PLA or all PETG.
