Es wurde 1928 eröffnet und bietet Platz für bis zu 50.000 Zuschauer, wobei für internationale Spiele 44.308 Plätze zur Verfügung stehen. Das Stadion ist Heimstätte des 1. FC Nürnberg und befindet sich auf dem ehemaligen Reichsparteitagsgelände. Es wurde mehrfach umbenannt, zuletzt 2017 in Max-Morlock-Stadion, zu Ehren des Weltmeisters von 1954.
