Description
This DialDock case is designed to take watch dials up to 45 mm - The one pictured is 28.5 mm.
Design considerations
- Accepts dials up to 45 mm.
- Friction fit lid with fingernail notches to aid removal. If it's a little tight you can use scaling to increase X & Y by 0.1 mm. I have found different PLA colors in the Bambu Labs range seem to be variable in this regard.
- Lid is thin enough to be translucent to see if a dial is loaded when printed in a lighter material. In this case grey doesn't show the dial, orange does. If you use a transparent filament you will definitely be able to see through.
- Inside suspension mechanism with lid locator to keep the dial centered, and allowing space for locating pins below the dial deck.
- Suspension has 3 arms to give 3 point contact to the underside of the dial.
- Lid is flexible along with the suspension to minimize chances of bending the dial with a gentle pinching action. Most dials will be a little loose and probably rattle a little but should remain retained in the center.

Using the case
- The suspension is printed upside-down so flip it over when you put it in the base, to create there's an air-gap for the dial locating pins to project down and the suspension to work.
- Be careful before closing the lid to center the dial on the hole in the suspension - use a toothpick, pegwood or silicone tipped probe to align the dial with the center hole in the suspension - then close the lid making sure the Dial has not moved. This will lock the Dial in the center of the case. The notches in the lid are designed to accept a fingernail so you can remove the friction-fit lid.
- The lid has a central Dial retaining cone and the lid is designed to flex, along with a suspension.
- Put the suspension into the base with the lip-side down to create an air-gap so the suspension can flex and Dial alignment pins have space to project downward. In short, flip the suspension upside-down from the print orientation.
- Before using the DialDock cycle lid removal a few times to improve usability if needed.
- There's also a thicker version on the lid on another plate incase you need something more protective for shipping.
