XXL Clamping Vise

Bill of Materials
Description
This is a screw clamp where the length adjustment is achieved using a pipe (diameter 21-22mm see below) of any length
This means the maximum workpiece length depends only on the length of the pipe used
This also makes it easy to fix very large workpieces
The clamp consists of two identical main bodies that are attached to the pipe with a clamping screw
For the clamping screws, two metric M8x50 screws and two M8 nuts are required
The screws are inserted into the knurled nut, and then the knurled nut is closed with a cap
The nuts are inserted directly into the main bodies, then the clamping screw can be threaded in
The threaded rods are printed horizontally so that the layer planes are transverse to the load direction of the thread
There are two different clamping jaw sizes to choose from: 30mm and 60mm diameter, these are screwed onto the tip after threading the threaded rods into the main body
There are 3 print profiles for the main bodies for different pipe diameters (please measure the pipe or rod to be used beforehand and select the appropriate print profile)
- Pipe diameter 21 mm
- Pipe diameter 21.5 mm (½")
- Pipe diameter 22 mm
For the photos, I didn't have a steel pipe yet, so a copper pipe is shown in the pictures; this is, of course, only partially suitable, as it bends when the clamp is tightened
Of course, with a plastic tool, the load limits are significantly lower than with metal tools, but I printed the parts in ABS, and with that, you can generate quite good clamping forces without the tool breaking
Have fun recreating it
