I recently discovered Sicherman dice and was captivated.
Quoting Wikipedia:
Sicherman dice (named after their inventor, George Sicherman) are a pair of dice marked such that every sum rolled with this pair occurs with the same frequency as with a pair of standard dice. Instead of the numbers 1 to 6, one die is marked 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, the other 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8.
Wikipedia also provides verification of this property.
If only the sum of the pips matters and, for example, doubles have no special significance in the game, you can substitute these Sicherman dice for two standard dice in a board game.
The pips on these dice are intentionally different sizes to ensure a uniform distribution of material across all sides.
Version 2 with a modified box lid.
The lid is intentionally tight-fitting to prevent it from falling off. If it does not fit at all, you can print it at 101% scale.
Have fun playing and good luck rolling!
