Description

Switch 2 Launch Edit: Hold off on printing these for a moment. I've optimized the size/thickness as I've outlined in this new description and will update the print profile soon.

Switch Swatches allow you to customize your Nintendo Switch 2 Console without any tools, annoying shell-swaps, or feeling (completely) left out when limited edition consoles eventually come out.

These fit snugly into the side of your console, are thin enough to allow the Joy-Cons to still connect, and can be taken out anytime. Just press these into the side of your console then pull them out whenever you need to with a piece of tape.

To remove them from the build plate intact and without bending them, I recommend starting a small corner with your fingernail then using the filament from the initial print line like floss along the underside of the print. I've also been using a smooth build plate for these more recently and I've found that makes removal even easier.

The original version of these was about 0.55mm and I've optimized the new ones to be 0.3mm. There's room to make them even thinner, but I've found they become too brittle, prone to permanent bending, and don't stay in the console if they're any thinner. They do affect the strength of the magnets in the system, but not enough to make them unusable. You could remove the red/blue strips that are built into the system to improve the magnetic attraction but I'm personally not going to do that and wouldn't recommend it to most people.

The plain swatch can be printed easily but the custom designs require an AMS and 0.2 hot end.

I'll be releasing a few more batches of designs with official print profiles. Comment some suggestions if you have any.
