<ul><li>PLA (but could be switched to PETG in the slicer and would work just as well, I used gold PLA metal from Bambu)</li><li>0.08mm “extra fine” layer height (for the best resolution in the small features)</li><li>2 walls (default, at this setting there is no sparse infill to worry about, it is solid gap infill taking up the inner portion, as shown in the layer view pic from the slicer I included)</li><li>0.4mm stainless steel nozzle and Textured PEI plate</li><li>Tree support is turned on just to help with the quality of the small bridged section at the top of the cutout for the vape button, but this part is very printable without the support turned on too (just uncheck the option to turn support on and re-slice). I reduced the support base layer expansion from default 2mm down to 1mm to prevent the support material from touching the part anywhere besides the intended small bridge.</li><li>Roughly 2.3 grams of filament total</li></ul>The print fits snugly and works as intended with a Smok Novo 5 vape to protect against accidental misfire in pockets, bags, etc. The button can still be used while this part is installed on the vape, it just requires a more intentional activation with pressing your finger through the button cutout. The design of this part does not add much additional width or thickness to the existing Novo 5 vape size, and the chamfers on this piece allow it to still slide in and out of a pocket easily. The fit of the inner geometry is also snug enough to keep this part in place on the vape quite well just due to friction alone. This is a great addition to a Novo 5, nice work and much appreciation to Kdyrja!&nbsp;

The Smok NOVO 5 vaporizer device&#39;s main activation button sits proud of the vaporizer&#39;s outer surfaces, so there is potential to accidentally misfire the device when placing it in your pocket, bag, etc. This model is a button guard that fits onto the NOVO 5 and adds a small amount of extra material to help recess the main activation button, which helps prevent accidental misfire. The design is small/thin enough that the vape (with guard installed) doesn&#39;t feel much larger or different in your pocket, and it has a chamfered/rounded outer profile, so it won&#39;t snag when sliding in or out of a pocket or bag. It fits onto the NOVO 5 nice and snug, and does its job at recessing the main button and preventing misfire.&nbsp;This profile is a single plate with 2x different variants of the Smok NOVO 5 button activation guard (the designer&#39;s updated model as of November 2025). The minor difference between the two included variants is that there are 2 styles of provision for a lanyard attachment on the button guard; one that is recessed with two holes for a cable passthrough, and one that has a small ring attachment point sitting proud of the guard&#39;s outer surfaces.&nbsp;The profile settings I&#39;ve uploaded include:<ul><li>Single-color PLA on Textured PEI Plate (I used Bambu&#39;s PLA metal when printing mine). <ul><li>Total model filament usage for both included variants is roughly 5 grams</li></ul></li><li>0.16mm layer height for first layer, 0.08mm layer height for all subsequent layers</li><li>2x wall loops (sparse infill settings don&#39;t make any difference with 2x wall loops, its basically all solid)</li><li>Tree supports turned ON (may not be all that necessary but can&#39;t hurt, I increased the top z distance a bit so it breaks off easier after)</li><li>Small inner and outer brim turned ON due to the small bed plate contact area (I increased the brim spacing a bit so its easier to remove after, mine basically just fell off without any bits left attached)</li><li>Speeds and accelerations reduced some due to small model geometry and contact area with bed plate<ul><li>Total print time is roughly 50 minutes with these adjustments</li></ul></li><li>Seams placed at back, 0.12mm elephant foot compensation, inner then outer wall printing order, classic wall generator</li></ul>If either version of the model is not wanted (due to the different lanyard attachment types), just download the profile and open it up in your slicer, then go to “Objects” and uncheck the box for the relevant model version that is not wanted and re-slice. The whole print with both types included is less than 5 grams, so there&#39;s not too much wasted to just make both versions anyways (plus then you can try out both types to see if one or the other is better for your needs). I&#39;m a little preferential to the recessed lanyard attachment version myself, for the obvious reason.
