Description

Convenient Desk/Table Mounted Cup Holder

Designed by those who cannot live without being in arms reach of a beverage while working, this cup holder aims to provide an affordable, reliable, and highly compatible alternative to standard commercial offerings.

Print Profile Information:

This model can support many different approaches to printing-- it's not very particular.
However, there are a few recommendations to best ensure an enjoyable experience:
The Screw and Clamp pieces should be printed with “strong” profiles. Generally, we achieved this by simply increasing infill to 100%. While a bit over-kill, this ensures the parts do not experience pre-mature failure.

  • The screw, if printed vertically, is especially prone to failure due to layer line orientation.
  • The clamp, depending on your print's tolerance, can also experience a strong radial stress when the Cup Holder is slotted in, which may cause stress fractures in the part if it is not strong enough.
  • It is not recommended to print any support for the threaded areas in the model. Support in these areas can cause the threads to no longer operate.
  • Support Interface material is recommended to ensure a frustration free part cleanup experience.

Extra:

If you find the cup holder does not have enough grip on the tabletop you are using, you may find cutting a grippy material and applying it to the bottom of the clamp and top of the end cap helpful. Attached you will find the dimensions for these areas (in millimeters):
