Description

I had Unifi G5 Turret  Ultra camera that I needed to install in some hard-to-reach areas.  The best option, for my safety, and to avoid putting a permanent hole in the side of my house, was to install directly in the soffit.

**This soffit mount is specific to the width of the soffit on my house and will likely require some tweaks to fit your house**

The concept here is to print a bar that can slide into the Soffit channel against my house, and slide into the channel on the fascia.

The mounting bar is thicker to provide support, but also provide a cavity to house the ethernet connection.  By doing this, I only needed to fish a Cat6 cable through my soffit holes.  I added the network end and connected to the camera in the mount.

For added support, you can install the Unifi-supplied metal mount.  I ended up removing that metal plate to provide more room for the ethernet connection.

I cut the provided screws and installed reverse (nut on the inside of the camera mount) which created a flat surface that will be against the soffit.

I installed 2 cameras with this method and they are still doing great 2 weeks in.
