Custom Text Coin Template | Make Your Own Tokens

I designed a blank coin that can be customized in Bambu Studio. 

Features

• Top: Thin border (0.4mm high) providing a large indented surface for raised text 
• Bottom: Grooved border for tactile and visual interest
• Edge: Small ridges for tactile and visual interest

Instructions

Open the 3mf file in Bambu Studio to start customizing your own coin!

NOTE: There seems to be a bug in Bambu Studio that may affect editing of the bottom text. If the preview (step 6) doesn't look right, I recommend deleting the “bottom text (cutout)” text item and adding a new text item – follow the instructions below. I'll report this bug to Bambu Studio – hope it gets resolved soon!

To edit the text:

1. In the Prepare tab > Objects, locate the text item labeled “top text” and select it.
2. Select the “Text shape” tool in the toolbar to open the text options.
3. Change the “Input text” value to your desired message. You can also change the font, size and other options if you'd like.
4. If repositioning is needed, select the “Move” tool in the toolbar and drag the colored arrows to move the text to your desired position.
5. Repeat the above steps for the text item labeled “bottom text (cutout)” to edit the text that is on the bottom of the coin. 
6. Slice the plate to preview your new design!

To add more text elements (e.g. another row of text):

1. Click on the coin to select it
2. Select the “Text shape” tool in the toolbar to open the text options.
3. Add your desired text in the “Input text” field. Change the font, size and other options to fit your needs. 
   You can take a look at the settings of “top text” and “bottom text (cutout)” in my example for reference.

4. Move your cursor to the side of the object where you want to add the text and click to confirm the side and general location of where you want the text to be.
5. If repositioning is needed, select the “Move” tool in the toolbar and drag the colored arrows to move the text to your desired position. You can also enter the exact coordinates for more precision. 
   TIP: To center text, I like to center the object (right click > Center) and then click to select the text and center that – from there you can move the text in a single direction if you just want it to be vertically/horizontally centered.
6. To have your text as a cutout, locate the text item in the Prepare tab > Objects, right click on the text item, select the “Change type” menu item, and change it to "Negative Part"
7. Slice the plate to preview your new design!
