Gridfinity Base: Fastest, Lightest, Customizable!
Print Profile(4)

Description
Why Another Gridfinity Baseplate? Because Baseplates Aren’t the Fun Part—Bins Are.
Every Gridfinity setup needs a base—but printing them shouldn’t be the biggest part of the job. This design is laser-focused on one goal: get you to the fun part faster. These are the fastest, lightest rigid baseplates you can print that still do the job: keeping bins from sliding around. That’s it. No overbuilding. No wasted plastic. No wasted time.
Have a unique space to fill? With this baseplate, you can build exactly the layout you need—right in Bambu Studio. Want a 6x6 on A1? Done. Need a weird L-shape for that one drawer? Split → delete → merge → slice → print. No modeling, no remixing—just results.
Performance: 15% to 30% savings!
As of May 4th, 2025, this is the fastest Gridfinity baseplate on MakerWorld I could find. Here’s how it stacks up (times are total time and then model print time):
- 4x4: 23m, 14g (A1Mini - 16.5m)
- 5x6: 38m, 25g (X1/P1 - 30.5m)
- 6x6: 44m, 30g (A1 - 37m)
- 7x7: 58m, 40g (H2D- 48.5m)
Or:
- 0.8g to 0.9g per square
- 1m10s to 1m25s per square
- (the more squares per plate, the more efficient)
Why It’s So Fast
Traditional bases are overbuilt for most uses. After testing, it became clear: baseplates don’t need to resist bending—they just need to stop bins from sliding. If your plate is supported by a drawer or table, this design works brilliantly with:
- 2 base layers
- 2 top layers
- 0% infill
- Concentric top/bottom layers
- No chamfers (base plate really doesn't need them)
This baseplate makes no compromises in function—just huge gains in speed and efficiency.
Full Slicer Customization
This base isn’t just fast—it’s modular in spirit too. You can build any layout you want without modeling:
- Split to Objects in the Bamboo Studio slicer.
- Delete the tiles you don’t want.
- Select All
- Merge
- and slice!
Build non-rectangular layouts, cutouts for cables, or anything else you need—right from the slicer. No extra tools, no remixing required.

Half Gridfinity Included
If your drawer has just a little extra space—like a half Gridfinity width (21mm)—you don’t need to waste it. Included in this release are customizable plates with an extra half-row on the X axis, and even a version with a half-row on both X and Y. Maximize every millimeter of usable space.
Print Guide
If you’re printing the largest Gridfinity plate your printer can handle, be sure to start with a perfectly clean build plate. Oils from your hands—especially near the edges—can cause prints to lift or fail. Wash with soap and water and allow to fully dry before printing.
Still having trouble?
Try enabling inner brims or applying a thin layer of glue stick. However, in all of our tests, a clean build plate is all you need for a successful print.
Light on plastic. Fast on print time. Big on possibilities.
Download, customize, and Gridfinity your setup at top speed!
Zach Friedman Rocks!
And of course, a shout out to Zach, creator of Gridfinity. Well done! This base actually deviates quite a bit from his base plate design, but it's fully compatible. This wouldn't exist w/o you Zach, thanks! Wiki: https://gridfinity.xyz/
