Description

Simple, compact gear case for the 1:47.9 gear set that comes in the Maker's Beginner Kit (B-ZC002). You will need to find two(2) 4mm long, 2mm screws for motor attachment. The pictures with the flat piece show deign progression and gear assembly location. Forced assembly will cause parts to break.

Holes might be tight and need to be enlarged.

Files that I upload have been printed and tested for functionality, fit, and printability with the profile settings provided. Print results may vary. For best results make sure filament is properly dried and print bed is clean.

This printed well, and the compact design seems nice. But, the holes definitely aren’t big enough. I tried and failed to force the shaft through.

I tried enlarging the hole is the drawing file and they came out too large and the gears rattled and did not mesh well. That is why I left them smaller and used drill bits to get the proper clearance.

I ended cutting the holes on the big part just a tad bigger in the slicer, but not all the way through. Works well now.

tollerance are too thight, it Broken before it went in

Tolerances are tight on purpose. That is why it says that holes may need to be clearanced to fit.

The quality is good. Well designed overall. As seen in other comments the fit is really tight, but it's doable. the orientation of the engine isn't ideal, but given the gears in the kit, I don't think there's much of a choice there. 5 stars anyway because I haven't found an alternative that works with the beginner's kit.
