Updated on 20 Jan 2026: While the original design has been successful for many, some users found removing the hygrometer a bit challenging. I have updated the model by lengthening the keyway opening, making it much easier to align and remove the device.

------------------

Updated on 11 Aug 2025: Based on feedback from several users, I’ve added a 0.05 mm clearance around the hygrometer and the circular slot on the lid. It’s a small adjustment—just 0.05 mm—to avoid creating an overly loose fit. I have updated the CAD file as well as the print profiles with the latest design.  I hope this improvement benefits most users.

I also wish to highlight that No Support is needed if you print according to my print profiles.

-------------------

Thanks to Kamaeleo for the original silica gel container design (https://makerworld.com/en/models/432132-silica-gel-container?from=search#profileId-336761) — I found it both minimalist and highly functional. However, I needed a version that could also accommodate a hygrometer, so I redesigned the lid to include a mounting slot.

This updated lid is compatible with hygrometers that have an internal diameter of approximately 41 mm and a thickness of around 14 mm (please refer to the included diagram). The fit is intentionally snug, but to account for potential variations in print tolerances or different hygrometer models, I've added keyways so you can twist and lock to secure the hygrometer in place.

When installing or removing the hygrometer, make sure to align the 12 o’clock position (top) of the hygrometer with the arrow indicator on the lid for proper orientation.

Lastly, the total assembled height of the container with the hygrometer is designed to be flush with the width of a standard filament reel, ensuring nothing protrudes during storage.

Thank you for your interest in this design. I invite you to explore my collection, where you'll find a range of thoughtfully crafted and practical solutions tailored for everyday use.
