Let’s face it—most walls aren’t square. And if you’ve ever wrestled with mounting a corner shelf that expects a perfect 90° angle, you already know how frustrating that mismatch can be. That’s why I designed the Rooted Shelf: a nature-inspired corner shelf that doesn’t just look good, but actually fits your walls, even when they’re far from perfect.

Unlike generic shelves that assume every home was built with laser precision, the Rooted Shelf adapts. It comes in models for corner angles from 85° to 95°, in 0.5° increments, giving you a snug, intentional fit with minimal gaps. And if your walls fall outside that range? Just leave me a comment—I’ll generate a custom version for you.

But the Rooted Shelf isn’t just about geometry—it’s also about strength and style. This mounts securely with drywall screws, making it the ideal choice for heavier loads or permanent installations. The tree-branch-inspired support structure doesn’t just add visual appeal—it’s structurally optimized using CAD-based weight distribution techniques.

How to Get the Best Fit

Before printing, measure your wall’s corner angle using a digital angle finder, or print the included angle test pieces to determine your match. This step is important to ensure a clean, stable installation—especially when using screws.

Installation Notes

This shelf is intended for screw mounting, and includes holes in the branch supports that are designed to carry the load efficiently. Make sure to anchor into a stud, or use appropriate drywall anchors on your surface. The optimized branch geometry differs slightly from an adhesive version of this shelf I designed here to allow space and strength for screw heads.

Print Notes

• Prints cleanly in PLA or PETG
• Optimized to print without supports
• Looks great in two-tone color (shown here in Prusament mystic green PLA + wood PLA branches) but also works well in single color
• Designed to roughly maximize A1 Mini’s build volume – scale down ~98% if using a brim on that printer.. you may have to drill out the screw holes a little bit, or adjust via STEP file included.
• No supports needed when using the included print profile or careful slicer tuning
• Printed test pieces help confirm your fit before committing to a full print
