Description

When the center speaker of my ‘14 Kia Optima SX-T’s Infinity audio system failed, I set out to replace it with a better driver.  Like most vehicle audio systems, the parts that comprise the system are of questionable quality.  I ended up replacing the entire audio system (speakers, amplifier, head unit), but that's a discussion for another time.

Scouring the web, I wasn't able to find any speaker mounting brackets that would adapt a standard driver into the factory center channel location.  A few hours of learning OpenSCAD and revising my design, I'm proud to present possibly one of the most niche models I've ever seen.

This mounting bracket was designed for a 4" driver, in my case the Dayton Audio PC105-4, but may fit other drivers without issue.  This mount should tuck right into the dash after some maneuvering, but I was able to place it with the driver affixed.  The walls of the base help with rigidity and the “mounting deck” is thick enough to mount a driver by driving screws into pilot holes of your choosing.

Feel free to make revisions to this design, as your requirements may vary.  After 4 iterations, this design works well for me and took only an hour to print on an A1 mini.
