Description
How to mount a 3kg eSun spool the same way you would with the regular 1kg ones? on top of an A1?! The challenge I bestowed upon myself by giving in to a nice deal on amazon.
Wandering the pages of Maker World I didn't find an adequate solution and had to come up with my own design, build on the inspiration that I found along the journey through this wonderful platform.
Where a lot of people balance an AMS lite on top of their Bambu A1; I figured a 3kg spool wouldn't be a problem for this versatile machinery.
And therefor I present you, the A1 BIGGER spool top mount. Compatible with the A1 PTFE Tube Connector, as shown in the pictures, which is easy to install with an H2.0 allen key.
The dimensions of the 3kg filament spool mounted in the pictures is approximately 270 x 100 mm.
Update: 17-08-2025
Following a request from @DmytroZaitsev, who had a collision with a hotend cable chain, I tilted the original design. This became print profile 15deg tilt, better clearance. Disclaimer: The printer does get a bit light on its front legs with a fresh 3kg filament spool.
