Rat and small rodent trap – A 3D Printed model designed to effectively capture rats and other small pests
Easy to print and assemble, it is designed for practical and durable use 🔧
⚠️ To be used responsibly – this model is provided as an example. The user remains responsible for its use and compliance with local regulations
🛠️ Tips for perfect 3D printing adhesion:
Carefully clean your print bed before each print. Grease residues, dust, or fingerprints can impair adhesion and cause detachments
Check bed calibration: a well-leveled bed ensures a uniform and well-adhered first layer
Use a suitable adhesion surface: depending on your material, apply a thin layer of glue stick, an adhesive spray, or a specific tape (e.g., Kapton, BuildTak)
Correctly set the bed temperature to promote adhesion according to the material used (PLA, ABS, PETG, etc.)
Reduce the printing speed of the first layer: a slower speed allows for better filament attachment to the bed
Provide a «skirt» or a «brim» in your slicer to stabilize the first layer and limit warping
feel free to resize it, in this file it is at maximum size. 50% is enough to catch small mice
It is advisable to bait rodents with, for example, fruit peels or pet food to place on the tilting trap
It is very simple to print and assemble
The ladder is printed in two parts, just glue it to assemble it, it fits into the slots provided in the collection bucket
The bucket has holes to drain water if used outdoors
The trap has a specific direction for its installation which will allow it to tilt and close by itself thanks to its integrated counterweight
the lid that positions on top has stops to prevent the trap from tilting so that it closes perfectly
it allowed me to catch one rat and three mice in one week, feel free to share your catches
