Versatile Adapter for Rain Barrels and Water Tanks

This practical adapter is the ideal solution to flexibly adapt your rain barrel or water tank to your needs. It has been specially developed to combine multiple functions in one robust and easy-to-handle component.

Key Features and Applications:

Connection of Rain Barrels/Water Tanks: Use the adapter to securely and tightly connect two or more rain barrels or water tanks using the Gardena/Husqvarna system. This allows you to easily expand your storage volume.
Connection for Gardena Hoses (Quick Coupling): The integrated connection enables the easy attachment of standard garden hoses with a quick coupling. Ideal for watering your garden or filling watering cans.
Water Outlet: Use the adapter as a practical, targeted water outlet. In combination with an optional shut-off valve, you can conveniently control and redirect water extraction.
Overflow Protection: Install the adapter as an overflow to drain excess water and prevent your barrel from overflowing during heavy rain.

Advantages:

Flexibly Applicable: One adapter for various applications related to your rain and water tanks.
Easy Installation: The adapter can usually be attached without additional tools (depending on the design and the type of connection on your barrel).
Large, stable M30 mounting thread with a matching nut for printing.
Optionally, a seal can be placed in between; it also works for me without a seal :-)

Installation:

Drill hole D30
A sealing ring from a coupling is required for the quick coupling.

Assembly Note for Gardena Connection

For a 100% watertight seal, a standard Gardena sealing ring (rubber O‑ring) is required.

Gardena Standard — Dimensions: 16 × 11 mm (outer diameter × inner diameter) / Cord thickness: 2.50 mm

Gardena Profi System — Dimensions: 22.3 × 17 mm (outer diameter × inner diameter) / Cord thickness: 2.65 mm

Thread turns great, seals everything. works for me even without seals. these are recommended in the long run though. is there also something for a 50mm diameter outlet

What recommendations are there for positioning this part on the build plate and where supports should be used? My settings, as shown in the image, resulted in a slightly oval hole at the Gardena connector, which is less than satisfactory. Kind regards, Stephan

It may not win any beauty contests, but it's functional😆 It was also fun to print with TPU again after 2 years and the JAYO PETG filament (AliExpress 8€/Kg) was superb to print with👍 Many thanks to the creator for sharing 🫶

I find it truly remarkable that one can create functional objects with minimal effort using 3D printing Thanks to individuals like you who create and share these fantastic templates, this is even possible 💪 I try my hand at far less spectacular things, but even that is fun when it works 😆 Only beautiful things like vases and candle holders etc are still just about tolerated, for figures etc, which makes up about 95% of what’s here, I myself lack the will😂 But such people must also exist🤷🏻‍♂️

I am fascinated by how this technology makes it possible to realize one's own designs instead of settling for manufacturers' specifications. I particularly appreciate the ability to produce replacement parts myself—even where manufacturers have not provided for it.
