Description
This decorative lighthouse is inspired by its real-world counterpart in Närsholmen on the Swedish island of Gotland. The model is a freely interpreted recreation and is perfectly suited as a garden or home accessory. In my case, it covers a ventilation pipe. Hence the holes in the "glass insert".
The lighthouse consists of several components, which are printed separately in PETG and then glued together. The upper insert ("glass area") is made with transparent filament and provides an authentic look. Particularly practical: The tower parts utilize a filament change at a layer height of 0.2 mm to efficiently implement the characteristic white stripes – without any subsequent painting.
Printing settings & Notes:
- Material: PETG for all parts, transparent PETG for the glass insert
- Layer height: 0.2 mm recommended
- Filament change at: 0.2 mm layer height (depending on the slicer)
- Assembly: After printing, the parts are precisely glued together
- Support structure: required for some parts
- Scalable: The model can be scaled for different applications. Please pay attention to the wall thicknesses. Original height approx. 58cm
Inspiration:
The real lighthouse stands in Närsholmen, a nature reserve on Gotland. Its simple yet striking design makes it a stylish eye-catcher.
