Description

Here it is, version 2 of my farm.
- More compact design
- I removed the net with screws and printed directly with the mealworm beetles compartment.
- Now there are also easily interchangeable months.
- Added the container for the pupas
- Added the container for carrots and to remove them easily (suitable for both mealworms and mealworm beetles

Ways to use:
Once everything is printed you can stack the two compartments, once every beginning of the month you only need to change the mealworms container and assign it to the current month (I think 3/4 containers are enough because mealwoms more cannot live)

There are two extra tags, one for mealworm beetles, the other for an extra container if you have a farm already started and don't know what months the eggs were laid. (like mine)

I recommend not keeping too many mealworm beetles because the farm may grow too fast and you would have an overflow of mealworms.
(20 to 30 bettles should be enough)

I love this design. It’s so practical. I am using it with superworms, and the sizes and all are correct. Love it!!!!!

Looks really nice, I'm more into superworms but I might give this a try :)

Thank you! I don’t know the dimensions of superworms, but I should create a third compartment for them to pupate (since they pupate only when alone). That could be interesting!

Yes, they are a lot bigger so I think the whole tower should be bigger if trying for superworms :/ I think it will be easier just using plastic tubs for superworms. But for the mealworms I think I'll try printing your design and giving it a shot :)

If you ever print it, let me know, so I can see about creating a taller model with an extra compartment for superworms—pupae

If you do, I suggest using aluminum foil tape and ring the top to help keep them off the lid.

Very nice design and super functional The print was also problem-free I added a layer to hold the pupae as the small tray exceeded our capacity ;-) I simply reduced the height of the bottom box and made a hole in all corners so the hatched beetles can fall into the layer below I have another question could you please upload the labels for the beetles and possibly one for pupae Unfortunately I cannot make the pictures as nice as yours :-)

I was looking to print for my classroom we do an insect study with mealworms but when I open the file I don't see the labels for larve, beetles or pupa only mealworms with months. Can you add those ones in?

> once every beginning of the month you only need to change the mealworms container and assign it to the current month I don't understand that. What is it for? Also, what do you mean to "change" and assign it to the current month? Thanks

In other words, for greater uniformity among the larvae, monthly division is preferable, otherwise you'll end up with a mix of larger and smaller larvae and beetles, making maintenance challenging (personal experience) Alternatively, if you prefer not to divide them monthly, you can simply use the tags without months and keep everything together

This is super cool, I was hoping to find a mealworm farm, but do you have like a video on YouTube or something to share, since I'm new to this and not sure how it works
