Description
Bastet, the goddess, isan ancient Egyptian mythological cat goddess, as early asthe second dynasty of Egypt(around 2890 BC), she began to be worshipped. Before the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt, she was theLower Egypt'sgoddess of war, in contrast to theUpper Egypt's lion goddessSekhmet, and because of itssimilarity, Bastet's priesthood gradually transformed from the god of war into the guardian of the family, symbolizing family warmth and joy.
