With this press, you can create seed pots from newspaper (recycled waste paper). A strip of newspaper is placed around the cylinder, folded over at the bottom, pressed into the mold with a rotating motion, and the container is finally filled with soil. Once the seedling is large enough, the entire rooted pot can be planted directly into the ground—the paper will decompose in no time.

I printed it with a more robust PLA with a wall thickness of 5 and 50% infill to ensure high strength.

Instructions for making seed pots (see photos):

  1. Cut a strip approximately 10 cm from a double sheet of newspaper.
  2. Fold over one edge of the strip about 5 mm (upper edge of the pot).
  3. Tightly roll the strip around the cylinder; the marking serves as a guide.
  4. Fold the paper over at the bottom (to seal).
  5. Place the stamp on the bottom of the pot and shape the bottom with rotation and pressure.
  6. Remove the paper pot and fill it with soil.
  7. Plant seeds or seedlings in the soil and water lightly.

A suitable tray for the paper pots is in preparation.
