Description

Add to your collection of cabinet making tools a Template for cutting out an integrated Toe Kick. This simple template expedites things and gives your cabinet panel markings consistency that outperforms a fine woodworking square.

Template is for a 4” x 4” cut out. Once you add ½” kicker plate you’ll get a common toe kick opening that is 3 ½” deep, and 4” high. Any lower and Roomba vacuum might get stuck underneath, any higher and you’re giving up precious space inside the cabinet.

A template with equal sides is less error prone. Equal sides means it can be used on either side of a side panel without the need to triple check the correct orientation to ensure mirror images of left and right sides of the cabinet.

Provisions are made to accommodate rough-cut edges to mark the cut out before any sanding. Side lips are not too big so that the template will lay flat on any sheets ½” and thicker.

Here's a sample demo by French River Woodworks of using a hand-made plywood template to mark a cut out for toe kick in a side panel of cabinet (see at 5:35). That inspired me to create a template for myself with some additional features.

50g of filament. Prints in about 65 minutes. PLA or any other filament of your choice is fine. No support needed.
