Description
You need to first confirm the thickness of your aquarium wall.
As my aquarium wall is 5 mm thick, the width of the hanging groove in this model is 5.5 mm. If your aquarium thickness is 6 mm, please download the original file and change the groove size to 6.5 mm.
I once tried to make the groove size consistent with the wall thickness, but it still has the risk of being buoyed up, so I added the screw hole design. To ensure the thread is firm enough, you need to prepare your own hand taps to tap the holes of the model, I suggest you use a 60° metric thread angle and a 1.25 mm M8 pitch "tap", "second tap" specification tap to tap the same through-hole separately, this will make the thread smoother, for beginners, I must tell you: the slope area of the "tap" is larger than that of the "second tap", which is to facilitate the alignment of the tap to the through-hole and keep the tap perpendicular to the processing surface for the first hand tapping. Since I use M8 tap, the size of these two through holes is derived from M8 size, generally, the diameter of the through hole should be: 8-1.25 = 6.75 mm, but considering that this is plastic material, I designed the through-hole diameter to be 6.5 mm, If you want to use other sizes of threaded holes, please modify the size of the original file first.
Please purchase hardware screws in advance, I use M8, 12 mm long cylindrical knurled screws, because this type of cylindrical knurled screw is easy to screw in directly by hand without the need for other wrenches.
After printing it, you need to clean the surface impurities and protrusions first, and it is best to avoid plastic residue from entering the aquarium water. Remember to remove the supports of the six square holes, they are relatively small.
Slowly press the model into the water. If you want to put in fighting fish, it is best to add water to a height of just over 5 mm above the square platform, they will be more willing to lie on it.
Also, this is not a fish prison, it is just a temporary way for fish to transition in the same aquarium for a while. If you have a more suitable environment for them to live in, it is recommended that you transfer the fish to a more suitable environment as soon as possible. However, this design is more suitable for allowing tropical fish to coexist for a while in winter.
