Lu Xun’s prolific oeuvre encompassed essays, short stories, literary and socio-political commentary, scholarly works, writings on natural science, classical textual scholarship and research, prose, modern prose poetry, classical verse, translations of foreign literature and scholarship, and studies of woodblock prints, profoundly influencing Chinese society and culture following the May Fourth Movement.
