Description

Small Pistol Crossbow inspired by Jörg Sprave.

PC 1911 is a very compact crossbow pistol with a magazine for 5 bolts and a open
sight system for aiming. The pistol is powered by theraband gold rubber. The
magazine is designed for standard 6,3“ - 6,5“ bolts.

Please note:

This small toy can be dangerous if not used properly. Use a backstop/ archery
mat for this and don´t aim or shoot at living beings. Please inform yourself if this
type of toy is legal in your country as it is basically a pistol crossbow.

Looks great, but i must say, a lot of improvements are required, as of now its not reliable at all, mine holded like ~10 shots before starting to malfunction, first the string holder stopped to hold the string, then the reload mechanism broke. Maybe its the rubber too strong (i used a sports espander with max load of 20kg), will test more. - I'd make the reloader fully solid and not split by 2 parts, because it breaks too often. I miss the easy way to remove the string, i have to push it with a needle - there are some issues with string holder, maybe make it longer/higher or use a stronger spring idk - (assembly guide) to hold the rubber on a throwing arm, its better to use plastic clamps, rubber slips off Nonetheless, its an amazing base for a personal pistol slingshot project, thank you.

Changed rubber to theraband-gold like (i think? its 10kg), lever is holding this tension. Cocking rails works fine even if split apart, a bit tough but does the job. Still have issues with rubber going away from the throwing arm, need more places to put a zip tie. It should allow for stronger resistance rubbers. The level could also be made a bit thicker and higher and it will easily hold 2x theraband load

Thank you for your comment. The Theraband should hold better if you wrap it with thin strips of Theraband under tension. In my opinion, regular cable ties are not suitable. Could it be that the brass sleeve at the back of the tensioning slide is missing, where the cord goes through? This is an essential part that is absolutely necessary.

Rubber strips alone did not work for me (theraband is hard to get in my region), but zip tie + rubber works absolutely fine, 2 wrapping points in a throwing arm is required to set a stronger rubber in the future. Brass sleeve is missing, true, but its fine, you can use it without the sleeve as it holds well as long as the cocking lever holds the string (which it sadly, does not after several shots). I think it either weaker spring or insufficient lever height. What happens is that I load the string -> start to release the rail -> string slips off the lever -> railing hits the main part, splits apart after a hit or two. Just need a more reliable lever or rail which does not come in contact with main part.

Everything fits! I'm working on tolerances to get the trigger working, then I'll install the rubber bands. Is there a belt clip to go with the holster, or one you recommend? Thanks again for your great design. I would love to see Jorg Sprave review it... "Let me show you its features! Ho, ho, ho!"

I can only agree, the RS-X-Bow 1911 Govt needs a little improvement. What always fell apart on me were the cocking rails. I took care of those. First, I separated them into two parts, the actual rail and the rear part. These are glued together over a large area. I then reinforced the rails by 2mm. That works now, I've done 20 bolt throws without further problems (GoGun-cheap-bolts). Fantastic project

Hello Peter, Did this happen to you despite the brass sleeve

Yes, the rails always broke apart there where the slot ends. Not at the back of the sleeve. The reinforcement on the rails made all the difference, the RS-X-Bow 1911 no longer has any difficulties. I have to take pictures of the beauty. BTW: I had feared that the reinforcement of the rails would be noticeable... but the 2mm make no difference at all
