This guitar is campfire ready. It sounds good! 

 

Ready for that BIG print that results in something you can use day-in/day-out?

 

The design incorporates two chambers with the Golden Curve (Fibonacci spiral) and series of interconnected chambers that magnify, amplify, and resonate the sound all escaping an acoustically tuned hole on the bass side of the strings. This reduces the twang from a plastic guitar. 

 

It requires some interesting filaments to also enhance the sound. PETG (337g) on the back for maximum resonance. PLA Wood (223g) on the front to mute the sound a bit with embedded wood fibers. And ASA or ASA Aero (558g)  for the frame that provides strength to hold it all together and resist the bumps and bruises of being a normal guitar. 

 

It is a big build that fits on 13 plates (lucky number), but most of them print fast. Just a lot of different materials and geometries to account for. But if you are patient, you can take the ExoGuitar to the next acoustic level!

 

The project uses the ExoGuitar platform and takes the place of the core and wing set. The link is above for details.
