Benchy Ice Cube Tray Mold Making Kit
Print Profile(1)

Description
Cheers to 10 years of Benchy! This is a ice cube mold making kit where the 3D printed parts are then used to make a silicone mold. This is to ensure food safety and further explained in the description.
Materials you will need that are not included in the print:
- Food safe casting silicone
- Plastic cups (for mixing silicone)
- Stirrer
- Tape

FOOD SAFETY
PLA and PETG are generally “food safe” materials. However, contamination from the printing process and porosity of the printed material can be a concern. When it comes to food, it's better to be safe than sorry. Therefore, this design is only using 3D printed parts as a KIT for making a food safe silicone mold for the ice cube. Please also make sure the silicone you purchased has been marked as “good to use for food contact”, as again, not all silicone are made the same. Some are used for crafts such as candle making or resin casting and can be not suitable for food contact!
I am using this silicone to cast:

You can use any silicone mold maker as long as it's marked food safe!

HOW TO MAKE
Here's a step by step on how to make the silicone mold.

The ice cube mold making kits have been experimented, printed and tested over many weeks to make it easy to make. Each test took hours waiting for the print, casting the silicone mold, and waiting for the ice to freeze properly before I am be able to determine what to tweak.
It's a kit that has been tested to really work and produces ice cubes you can use in a safe-to-consume manner.
