Description

🧠 FTC Strafer Control Hub Mount – GoBilda Pattern | Wire-Managed, Shield-Ready

Designed for the popular GoBilda Strafer drivetrain, this Control Hub & Expansion Hub mount is a game-changer for FTC teams looking to maximize space, improve wire organization, and protect critical electronics.

šŸ’” Why This Mount?

The GoBilda Strafer kit is a favorite among FTC teams for its modularity and compact drivebase—but the empty center zone between the wheels is often underutilized. This custom mount transforms that space into a smart, secure housing for your REV Control Hub or Expansion Hub.

šŸ”© Mounting & Heatset Insert Details:

  • Designed to mount directly to the GoBilda pattern with M4 screws or bolts.
  • Uses M3 heatset inserts to securely fasten the Control Hub or Expansion Hub from the top.
  • Outer holes support M4 heatset inserts, allowing your team to add optional polycarbonate shielding for protection from impacts and cable snags.

Heatset inserts (installed with a soldering iron) provide durable, threaded mounts that withstand repeated removals and rough competition use—far more reliable than threading directly into plastic.

šŸ”Œ Built-In Wire Management:

One of the biggest challenges in FTC electronics layout is clean, reliable wiring. This mount addresses that with:

  • Underside cable cavities for routing power and sensor wires neatly out of sight.
  • Side cutouts and channels to allow wires to enter and exit from multiple directions.
  • Designed to reduce clutter, improve serviceability, and reduce stress on ports and connectors.

Neat cabling isn’t just aesthetic—it reduces electrical issues, improves airflow, and helps with debugging under time pressure.

🧰 Perfect For:

  • FTC teams using the GoBilda Strafer drivetrain
  • Students building field-serviceable robots
  • Coaches and mentors looking to teach proper wiring and hardware mounting
  • Robots that need clean integration of Control + Expansion Hubs without bulky mounts

No install guide is included—so please review the photos closely and prepare to install your heatset inserts carefully using a soldering iron and a printed test piece if you're new to the process.

If you build with this—tag your team, post your build, and inspire others.
