Description

A space-saving holder for storing up to 3 build plates under a wire rack shelf. I made this for my Bambu Lab H2D setup, where space is tight and I needed a clean way to keep extra plates within reach. It hangs directly from the steel bars of typical wire shelving: no screws, no glue, just snap it on.

I use this with my Bambu Lab H2D build plates, but it should work with any plate, as long as you space the holders correctly. Let me know!

This model was designed based on the measurements of my own wire rack, so it’s tailored to fit that specific spacing and bar size.
I’ve added a reference image below showing the exact dimensions, so if your setup is different, feel free to reach out and I can try to create a custom version.

If you'd like a custom version, just send me the following measurements from your wire rack:

  • Horizontal bar spacing – mine: 97.1 mm
  • Vertical bar spacing – mine: 22.5 mm
  • Horizontal bar diameter – mine: 5.2 mm
  • Vertical bar diameter – mine: 3.0 mm

and, if you’d like to, you can

buy me a coffee

Hi @mazzi, this idea is awesome. Alas, the dimensions of my wire shelves are a little different from yours. Horizontal bar spacing – mine: 88.7 mm Vertical bar spacing – mine: 16.8 mm Horizontal bar diameter – mine: 6 mm Vertical bar diameter – mine: 3.3 mm Any chance you could make a profile that would fit those dimensions?

Awesome and thank you! I took a stab at adjusting the mounting pieces last night in the slicer and that didn’t go well, lol. This taught me I really need to learn a CAD tool instead of trying to do everything in the slicer. And especially if I ever want to create my own models. do you have any first hand suggestions of CAD tools and/or training?

I LOVE the idea of this space saving. I am not too familiar creating models yet, but I would love a built plate holder ON THE SIDE so it's visible to see which plate I am grabbing, hard to see when it's underneath

thinking using the side of shelf for bottom of the holder for weight support, and the vertical pole be the top of the holder for additional guide lane
