Filament Palette - super color mixer

This project enables you to blend filaments into virtually any color. You can use any number of colors in any proportion to achieve your desired hue.

Project Rationale

I possessed silver and light gray filaments, but the model I intended to print required dark gray—a small quantity, insufficient to justify purchasing an entire spool. Unwilling to compromise on color, I explored existing solutions, finding most limited to dual or quad-color mixing and crucially, lacking adjustable blend ratios. After reviewing and printing several existing designs, I decided to create my own, capable of adjusting color mixing ratios and generating filaments of any length.

Usage

Upon opening the configuration, you'll find the filament segmented into 20 layers, each customizable to your preferred color. Controlling the number of colors dictates the color ratio.

You can also customize the layer count in the parametric editor (Advanced Settings → Layer Count).

Note: Coils generated via the parametric editor require manual division into parts within Bambu Studio (select model → right-click → split → split into parts).

Before printing, remember to adjust “layer height” and “first layer height” (Filament_Diameter ÷ Layer_Count)

Additional Considerations

• As the printed filament dimensions may not be perfectly standardized, flow calibration is recommended before printing actual models, or enable automatic flow calibration.
